The Narok County Public Service Board is seeking to recruit Kenya Registered Renal Nurses (Nursing Specialists) to join its health services department. This role entails providing specialized nursing care, specifically assessing, planning, and implementing interventions for patients with renal conditions while evaluating outcomes. The officer will be responsible for diagnosing common health conditions, prescribing treatments, and managing service delivery units to ensure high standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient outcomes.
Diagnose common health conditions, prescribe, and administer treatment.
Provide healthcare services including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management of Adolescents and Adulthood illnesses (IMAI), immunization, and reproductive health.
Offer health education and counseling to patients, clients, and the community.
Facilitate patient admissions, initiate discharge plans, and maintain accurate health records.
Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment.
Conduct home visits and provide home-based care services for discharged patients.
Provide clinical teaching and assessment for nursing staff and students.
Conduct health needs assessments in schools and occupational settings.
Manage a service delivery unit and ensure the effective utilization and safety of medical supplies and equipment.
Implement research findings to improve nursing care standards.
Requirements for Appointment
Must have served in the grade of Registered Nurse 1 for a minimum period of three (3) years.
Possess a Higher Diploma in either Kenya Registered Peri-operative Nursing or Kenya Registered Nephrology Nursing.
Have a Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
Possess a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
A Certificate in Supervisory Skills Course (minimum 2 weeks) is an added advantage.
Proficiency in computer application skills is an added advantage.
