We are seeking a highly motivated IT Support Intern to join our team.
Role Overview
The IT Support Intern will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including web development, maintaining IT infrastructure, providing user support, and ensuring the security and integrity of organization data. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to gain hands-on experience across full-stack development and IT systems administration.
Key Responsibilities
Web Development: Design, develop, and maintain both the client-side (front-end) and server-side (back-end) components of web applications.
System Optimization: Conduct continuous research on the improvement of existing systems for optimal productivity.
Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain the organization's IT infrastructure both offsite and onsite.
Technical Support: Troubleshoot and identify technology-related hitches, offering solutions both remotely and on-site.
Cloud & Network Administration: Maintain local premise cloud infrastructure and cloud-based servers on Digital Ocean; set up and administer VPN for remote working.
Server Management: Set up, configure, and maintain email servers and Linux servers.
User Training: Train end users on IT entities such as servers, ERP, and information security awareness.
Monitoring & Continuity: Ensure minimal downtime for emails, document servers, and ERP systems; manage data backup and restoration for business continuity.
Security: Implement server hardening and security best practices to protect critical organization data; monitor server logs and email security.
Hardware & Peripherals: Perform hardware repairs, printer maintenance, and monitor CCTV and biometric access systems.
Virtualization: Utilize virtualization in cloud infrastructure to maximize hardware resources.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field.
Hands-on experience in ICT infrastructure handling, set up, and maintenance.
Knowledge of UNIX and Linux Operating Systems is preferred.
Knowledge of Linux server administration and virtualization.
Any networking qualification is an added advantage, but not mandatory.
Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail, initiative, self-drive, and ownership of work.
