Sight and Sound Limited, established in 1989, is a leading collaboration solution provider specializing in videoconferencing, audio-visual, and integrated IT solutions. We are seeking an IT Expert to oversee our Biometric Identity System. This role is responsible for the end-to-end support of the biometric identity system, ensuring high availability and performance of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). The successful candidate will manage field devices, data collection, backend processing, and databases, while acting as the primary technical interface between local operations and our headquarters in France.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration
Provide end-to-end support of the biometric identity system, including field devices, data collection, and backend processing.
Diagnose and resolve issues across hardware, software, and network layers.
Ensure high availability and performance of the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System).
Perform system troubleshooting and regular maintenance.
Database Management
Administer and optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
Ensure data integrity, security, and efficient biometric matching.
Production Support
Collaborate with the local production team responsible for ID document manufacturing.
Ensure seamless integration between biometric data and ID card production systems.
Customer Relationship & Communication
Act as the primary technical interface with the customer.
Provide regular updates, incident reports, and performance metrics to the HQ team in France.
Facilitate coordination between local operations and HQ directives.
Team Engagement & Leadership
Motivate and guide the local technical team.
Promote best practices and ensure alignment with HQ standards.
Foster a collaborative and proactive work environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations or system integration.
Strong background in systems, networks, databases, and cybersecurity.
Hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
Mastery of Linux and Windows administration and Active Directory.
Experience in production environments, preferably in identity or document issuance.
Proven track record of working in customer-facing roles.
Familiarity with biometric systems and AFIS platforms is a plus.
