The Inventory Accountant is a supervisory role responsible for managing the end-to-end inventory process, ensuring accurate record-keeping in the ERP system, and maintaining compliance with international accounting standards.
Responsibilities
Supervisory Oversight: Manage the receiving (GRNs) and issuing (indents) of inventory, ensuring physical items are correctly posted in the ERP system.
Inventory Integrity: Ensure inventory records meet assertions of existence, accuracy, valuation, and completeness in regard to cost and valuation criteria.
Timely Processing: Ensure all receipts and issuance of inventory are handled in a timely manner.
Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with procurement policies, inventory policies, and International Accounting Standard 2 (IAS 2 - Inventories).
Reporting: Prepare comprehensive inventory reports, stock take reports, and variance reports for review by the General Ledger Accountant.
Requirements
Professional Qualification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Finalist and/or registered with ICPAK (Mandatory).
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or currently in progress.
Experience: At least 5 years post-qualification of CPA Finalist, or 7 years on-the-job experience plus 3 years post-qualification of CPA finalist.
Sector Experience: Must have held a senior inventory or similar position in a Level 4 hospital or have experience as an Audit Senior in an External Audit firm.
