About the Role
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is inviting applications for the Internship - Information Management Technology within Session 2 of the 2026 Internship Program. The Bank aims to be at the center of Africa’s transformation and to improve the quality of Africa’s growth, promote inclusive growth and spur the transition to green growth. This program provides students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience within an international development environment.
Objectives
Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
Note: Applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the Bank.
Key Information & Timeline
Commencement: July 2026.
Duration: Minimum of three (3) months and maximum of six (6) months.
Work Mode: Interns will perform their internship either remotely or on-site depending on the needs of their respective hiring units.
Support: Eligible interns will benefit from medical insurance coverage and a monthly stipend.
Responsibilities
Support the Information Management Technology department in daily operations.
Utilize the Bank's standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) for various tasks.
Assist in technical projects related to the Bank's mission.
For remote interns: Maintain a personal computer, reliable internet connection, and a conducive working environment.
For on-site interns: Manage personal travel and upkeep to the Bank's location.
Requirements and Eligibility
Age: Must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of commencement.
Education: Be currently enrolled in a master’s level degree program in a recognized public or private educational institution. Candidates can also apply within one (1) year of having obtained such a degree.
Nationality: Must be a national of a member country of the African Development Bank.
Languages: Fluency in at least one of the Bank's two working languages (English or French).
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Knowledge of SAP is desirable.
Documentation: Provide a letter from school confirming enrollment or a copy of the degree certificate.
