Job Description
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is offering internship opportunities within its Human Resources Management department for Session 2 of the 2026 Internship Program. The program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the Bank and to build a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment. The internship aims to support the Bank's mission of transforming Africa by improving the quality of growth and promoting inclusive, green development.
Objectives of the Program
Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.
Note: Applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the Bank.
Key Terms and Conditions
Duration: Between three (3) and six (6) months. The internship is authorized only once per candidate.
Commencement: Session 2 will begin in July 2026.
Modality: Internships may be remote or on-site depending on the hiring unit's needs. Remote interns must have a personal computer and reliable internet. On-site interns are responsible for their own travel and upkeep.
Benefits: Eligible interns will receive a monthly stipend and medical insurance coverage provided by the Bank.
Visa Support: The Bank will assist in obtaining entry and residence visas where applicable.
Eligibility Criteria
Age: Must be no more than 30 years old at the start of the internship.
Education: Currently enrolled in a Master’s level degree program in a recognized higher learning institution, or have graduated with such a degree within the last one (1) year.
Nationality: Must be a national of a member country of the African Development Bank.
Language: Fluent in at least one of the Bank's working languages (English or French).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); knowledge of SAP is desirable.
