Sheer Logic Management Consultants (SLMC) is seeking an Internet Installer to be based in Nakuru. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of internet services at customer locations, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Role Overview
As an Internet Installer, your primary role will be to ensure the successful installation and functionality of internet services at customer premises. You will coordinate with dispatch to handle daily appointments, manage materials, and educate customers on the features and benefits of their new services. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, physical fitness for working in various environments (including at heights and in small spaces), and strong communication skills for customer interaction and up-selling.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with the dispatch team for daily scheduled appointments.
Ensure all identification, safety, and courtesy equipment is worn at all times.
Test electrical equipment and systems to verify the proper functioning of routers and internet services.
Transport and stage installation materials at the customer's premises.
Guide, coordinate, and oversee fellow installers during the process.
Educate customers on product benefits and identify opportunities for up-selling add-on products.
Monitor and evaluate the performance and quality standards of sub-contractors within their infrastructure boundaries.
Maintain installation tools and equipment in safe and working condition.
Explain features and functionality of installed products to customers.
Assist in completing tasks within designated time frames.
Assist with parts, shipping, receiving, and inventory management as needed.
Handle documentation and review paperwork with customers where necessary.
Perform physical tasks including crawling into small spaces and working in all climates.
Remain physically fit and comfortable working at heights and off ladders.
Qualifications and Requirements
College Degree (preferred).
Previous trade experience is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Job-specific technical skills such as splicing and racking.
High attention to detail, specifically in listening to client concerns and issues.
A valid motorcycle or motorcar driver’s license.
