Job Description
The Co-operative Bank of Kenya is seeking a highly skilled Integrations Developer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing robust integration solutions that facilitate seamless communication between various banking systems. This role involves analyzing business requests to identify operational challenges, defining integration requirements, and implementing Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) solutions. You will be tasked with maintaining a services catalog, ensuring system security, and collaborating with vendors to resolve technical issues while adhering to strict change control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis: Analyze requests obtained from business to determine operational problems, define integration requirements, advice on the best way for integration, and document the same.
ESB Development: Develop new and manage existing SOA ESB integrations depending on the need and requirements.
Lifecycle Management: Develop policies and processes around ESB systems, defining and executing lifecycle management compliance checkpoints and reviews.
Infrastructure Support: Assist with technology management of Service Oriented Infrastructure and ESB systems support for development, production, and management of SOA implementation.
SOA Architecture: Develop and maintain SOA reference architecture and assist in the management of the Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) services catalog, SOAP and REST, Web-services, and Web Services Description Language (WSDL).
Third-Party Integration: Support the UDDI services catalog in the development and management of SOA toolkits and in the integration and deployment of Web Services provided by other vendors into the ESB.
Application Development: Design and code systems (web, desktop, and mobile applications) or interfaces according to user specifications.
Testing & UAT: Provide test systems for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure that functions/features are tested before being put on the live system.
Documentation: Develop and maintain documentation/manuals on system configuration and technical specifications.
Security Controls: Secure systems by putting adequate controls and restrict access to programs by users in accordance with bank requirements.
Vendor Liaison: Liaise with software vendors to resolve systems issues or escalations, collecting and documenting information to enable effective support.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university.
Experience: At least two (2) years’ experience in implementing and supporting Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) products, web services, load balancing, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions across development, test, and production environments.
Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in performance monitoring, load balancing, performance tuning and optimization, load testing, and SOA systems management.
Capacity Planning: Ability to independently perform capacity planning within ESB environments.
Programming Skills: Excellent understanding of programming languages and development tools, particularly C#, J2EE, HTML/CSS, and XML.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, presentation, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Configuration: Sound knowledge and hands-on experience in the configuration and deployment of ESB and API components.
