Role Overview
As an Integrated Solutions Well Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring all engineering activities are in line with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures. You will drive an HSE culture by setting an example through safe work practices and conduct business according to Baker Hughes values. Your role involves participating in the entire well engineering lifecycle, from tender bid preparation to end-of-well reporting, ensuring flawless service delivery and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the tender bid preparation process for well engineering input.
- Engage in customer presentations and meetings, which may involve travel.
- Prepare well designs, well plans, and operational procedures for construction, completion, intervention, and abandonment of wells.
- Define technical services and identify third-party requirements.
- Develop operational time and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal and external parties to prepare risk registers and contingency plans.
- Participate in peer reviews, peer assists, and other quality assurance activities.
- Monitor daily progress of projects and track operations expenditure.
- Evaluate and implement best practices and technological advancements in Integrated Solutions operations.
- Communicate with well site and project stakeholders to drive operational excellence as per approved plans.
- Monitor technical and operations KPIs against offset well data and predefined objectives.
- Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
- Prepare technical reports including End of Well Reports, after-action reviews, and lessons learned summaries.
- Comply with data management procedures and stay updated on technological advancements through professional networks and training.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. (A Master's in Petroleum/Oil & Gas or Well Engineering is preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in well construction, completions, intervention, and/or optimization.
- Experience in drill bits, BHA design, engineering simulations, field operations, and program/design preparation.
- Basic knowledge of conventional rotary drilling, horizontal/multilateral wells, pad drilling, and unconventional applications.
- Proficiency in Geo-mechanics and well control.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work across diverse businesses and cultures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to form hypotheses with incomplete information.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite, Power BI, or other analytical tools, as well as well engineering and design software (e.g., hydraulics, torque and drag, basic casing design).
