We are currently seeking an Insurance Sales Officer based in Kisumu to drive growth in our insurance business across and outside the ABC Bank group channels through new business acquisition, cross-selling, and efficient claims administration.
Key Responsibilities
New Business and Cross Selling: Drive growth in the insurance business across and outside ABC Bank group channels. Execute day-to-day insurance operations at the assigned regional level, which entails new business development and cross-selling of insurance products, claims administration, and documentation.
Business Retention: Conduct timely follow-ups on renewals to ensure business retention that would otherwise lead to income leakage.
Cross-Selling Group Products: Cross-sell other Group Products such as Liabilities, foreign exchange, Account Opening, Trade Finance, and Stock Trading.
Relationship Management: Develop good working relationships with various departments within the group, working closely with Branch Managers, Relationship Managers, and Credit Analysts to generate insurance business and leads through their customers.
Customer Service: Ensure customer inquiries are resolved promptly in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures.
Product Training: Champion insurance product training at the regional branch level to sensitize both group staff and customers on insurance products.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures regarding insurance sales.
Collateral Protection: Ensure all collaterals and assets that have the financiers' interest are properly and comprehensively insured, and the financiers' interest is properly noted.
Debt Management: Ensure that debt levels are managed proactively and maintained minimally in line with the credit policy (40:30:30).
Requirements, Qualifications & Competencies
A University Degree in Insurance, Marketing, or a business-related field.
Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Insurance.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in active insurance sales.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong sales and negotiation skills.
A collaborative team player with excellent customer service skills.
Proven planning, coordination, and time-management skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, innovative, strategic in thought, and decisive.
Well-groomed and outgoing personality.
