West Kenya Sugar Limited is seeking a qualified Instrumentation Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining critical electrical and control systems to ensure the smooth and stable operation of the manufacturing plant located in Kakamega.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and service electrical systems, PLCs, DCS, and various instrumentation components.
Perform comprehensive troubleshooting of faults to minimize downtime and ensure stable plant operations.
Support the management, operation, and optimization of automation and control systems.
Lead or assist in scheduled maintenance activities and system upgrades to improve efficiency.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc), Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
2 to 8 years of relevant professional experience, depending on the candidate's level of seniority.
Strong troubleshooting skills and a systems-thinking approach to technical problems.
Prior experience with PLC and SCADA systems is considered a significant advantage.
