The Infectious Disease Surveillance Advisor will provide technical and operational leadership for the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) Project in Kenya.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Assist with the day-to-day technical and operational aspects of projects in Kenya.\n- Support the development, coordination, and implementation of surveillance activities in the programmatic workplan, including epidemiological and laboratory surveillance of zoonotic, epidemic-, and pandemic-prone diseases.\n- Provide technical expertise to regional staff members, ensuring project activities are on track and informed by subject matter expertise.\n- Review and revise project and donor reports and draft publications and external communications.\n- Coordinate and work with a diverse group of organizations, such as ministries of health, district health staff, and international development partner organizations.\n- Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions with minimal supervision.\n- Provide input on national guidelines and normative policies within subject matter areas.\n- Serve as a technical expert on animal and human disease surveillance, aligning with Joint External Evaluation (JEE) results, International Health Regulations (IHR), and other global guidelines.\n- Assist with the production and timely dissemination of high-quality relevant data, including internal and external situation reports (SitReps), bulletins, and health risk assessments.\n- Support internal learning and development of infectious disease surveillance activities within PATH.\n\n### Requirements and Qualifications\n- Master’s degree or its international equivalent in epidemiology, public health, veterinary medicine, or a related field.\n- At least 5 years of relevant international experience in applying epidemiological principles and methods in the design, implementation, and management of surveillance systems.\n- Experience working on large USG-funded projects or technical implementations.\n- In-depth knowledge of public health issues, trends, epidemiological theory, and surveillance techniques.\n- Experience in One Health, zoonotic diseases, and outbreak investigation/control specifically in Kenya.\n- Strong analytical skills and experience with DHIS2 use and tool development.\n- Proven ability to coordinate staff across multiple projects simultaneously and support cooperation among countries for health development.\n- Willingness to travel within Kenya up to 25%.\n- English proficiency required.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified?
