Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Education Specialist (Access and Inclusion), UNICEF Kenya Country Office, the Inclusive Education Consultant will provide time‑bound technical and practical implementation‑related support, alongside the delivery of clearly defined outputs, in support of UNICEF Kenya’s Inclusive Education and Access portfolio under Education Output 2.1.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and practical implementation-related support for the Inclusive Education and Access portfolio.
Deliver clearly defined outputs in accordance with Education Output 2.1.
Provide technical inputs to education policy, assessment, and data-related processes.
Work with communities, schools, civil society, and government counterparts to advance inclusive education initiatives.
Provide support for teacher education and disability inclusion programming.
Requirements
Education: Advanced university degree in education, preferably inclusive education, economics, social sciences and/or international development.
Work Experience: 5 years of professional experience in social or international development.
Disability Inclusion: Demonstrated experience in inclusive education and/or disability inclusion programming; experience in teacher education is an asset.
Policy and Assessment: Experience providing technical inputs to education policy, assessment, or data-related processes.
Stakeholder Engagement: Experience working with communities, schools and civil society, and government counterparts.
Language: Professional proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of Swahili is an asset.
Skills: Strong knowledge in disability inclusion and/or inclusive education planning and management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
