Job Description
AGL (Africa Global Logistics), a leading multimodal logistics operator and part of the MSC family, is seeking an Implant representative to join our team in Nairobi. The Implant acts as the on-site representative of the company at the customer's premises (specifically coordinating with Del Monte), ensuring seamless coordination of logistics operations, maintaining strong customer relationships, and driving operational efficiency and service excellence.
Role Overview
To serve as the primary link between AGL and the customer, managing on-site logistics for Sea Export products and ensuring high levels of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Coordination
Manage day-to-day logistics activities at the customer site for the Sea Export of their products.
Coordinate with transporters, Delmonte warehouse teams, operations teams, and AGL internal departments to ensure timely execution.
Monitor shipment status and ensure adherence to agreed timelines and service levels.
Handle documentation for outbound shipments, customs clearance, and compliance where applicable.
Customer Interface
Act as the primary point of contact between the customer and AGL.
Understand customer requirements and ensure alignment with operational execution.
Provide regular updates on shipment status, delays, and exceptions.
Address customer queries, complaints, and service issues promptly.
Exception Handling & Problem Solving
Identify operational issues and initiate corrective actions.
Escalate critical issues to management in a timely manner.
Work closely with stakeholders to resolve delays and service failures.
Compliance & Process Adherence
Ensure all operations comply with regulatory requirements.
Follow internal SOPs and maintain documentation for audits.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in processes and efficiency.
Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
Track KPIs such as delivery timelines, turnaround time, and service levels.
Highlight risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain operations.
Experience in customer-facing or implant roles is a distinct advantage.
Knowledge of customs procedures and regulatory requirements is preferred.
