Job Description
Kenya Electricity Generating Company PLC (KenGen) is looking for an ICT Officer Intern to join its team. This role involves maintaining the stability, performance, and security of the company's ICT infrastructure, which is crucial for supporting power generation operations across various locations in Kenya.
Responsibilities
Planning, designing, and implementing ICT infrastructure systems to ensure high availability, optimization, and security.
Managing and maintaining network infrastructure, including Microwave links, VSATs, Fibre links, and both cabled and wireless LANs and data centers.
Operating and maintaining security, surveillance, and access control systems.
Designing ICT security protocols such as intrusion detection, network access control, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
Administering technical support for Plant Control Systems, specifically SCADA and DCS systems.
Coordinating system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements.
Performing routine maintenance of backend hardware and software systems according to the company's schedule.
Keeping an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all ICT assets.
Providing customer service and technical support to end-users, including training on systems.
Preparing and submitting regular task and performance reports.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology, or a related equivalent qualification.
Readiness to be deployed to any of the company's business areas across Kenya.
