The ICT Officer II (System Networking) reports to the Director of ICT. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the University's network infrastructure, identifying risks, and ensuring the seamless availability of connectivity services across the institution.
Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate ICT network programs in line with applicable ICT policies to ensure areas of risk are identified and addressed adequately.
Manage ICT network projects to completion through regular supervision to ensure they are undertaken as per the required standards.
Prepare and present monthly and annual ICT network reports to the Principal ICT Officer in line with University policies.
Participate in the formulation of ICT network policies in consultation with other officers.
Install, configure, and support the organization's Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Internet devices, systems, or network segments.
Implement disaster recovery plans through backup management to ensure business continuity.
Troubleshoot networks and information security risks using specialized network monitoring tools.
Participate in the procurement of ICT network equipment and infrastructure.
Support users on ICT networks through provision of specialized services.
Participate in the management, upgrade, monitoring, and maintenance of network devices by keeping an inventory.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned, prescribed, or delegated by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a related field from a recognized institution.
Registration with a relevant professional body.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an ICT Officer III or its equivalent in the public or private sector.

Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI)
Registered Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Commission for University Education (CUE) for degrees from foreign universities
Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
