Job Description
The ICT Officer I at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA) is responsible for maintaining the Institute's ICT infrastructure, providing user support, and developing enterprise systems. The role involves managing server environments, ensuring system security, and performing data engineering tasks to support the Institute's research and analysis functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining technical documentation and service catalog on ICT equipment and software.
Collecting feedback from users on processes and recommending areas of improvement.
Training end-users on ICT systems and equipment.
Maintaining support systems and training of users.
Preparing technical systems and user documentation as well as developing systems user manuals.
Implementing scheduled routine as well as random maintenance tasks on Server hardware, VMWare Server virtual environment and Storage system in the data centers.
Implementing the installation, operation and administration of security for the various systems components.
Analyzing system and user requirements for optimal system design.
Designing, developing and deployment of new enterprise systems and applications.
Maintaining a register of network and data center equipment.
Performing data analytics and data engineering tasks as per user requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree of Science in any of the following fields: Computer Science, Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Science & Technology, Information Systems, Business Information Technology (BBIT), Computing Science and Technology, Computer Security and Forensics or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
At least one (1) Technical certification in either System Administration or Network (MCSE, LPIC, CompTIA Linux+, N+, A+, CCNA or equivalent).
Proficiency in software development, Data science, or Data engineering.
Cumulative service period of three (3) years at the grade of ICT Officer II position or equivalent.
