Job Description
Kenya Broadcasting Corporation is a State Corporation committed to excellence in broadcast services to our audience, customers, and the public. Its aim is to inform, educate and entertain the public through Radio and Television services. The Corporation wishes to fill the position of ICT Officer (Digital Services) with a dynamic, self-driven, and results-oriented professional.
Role Overview
The ICT Officer (Digital Services) is responsible for the technical maintenance and optimization of the corporation's digital platforms, ensuring stability, high performance, and effective content distribution across web and mobile ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Web Development & Maintenance: Updating and maintaining news and radio websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and WordPress.
Mobile App Optimization: Managing and optimizing mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
Technical Troubleshooting: Testing, debugging, and troubleshooting web-apps to ensure stability and performance.
Digital Content Strategy: Implementing content strategies for various digital platforms including websites, social media, video, and podcasts.
Technical Documentation: Creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for mobile apps, code changes, and feature enhancements.
Compliance: Ensuring all digital activities and data management comply with data protection regulations.
Market Research: Undertaking research to stay abreast of industry social media trends and their impact on content production, distribution, and consumption.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Graphic design, Interaction Design, Information Technology, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Communication studies, Media Studies/Science, TV Production, Media, Broadcast Production, Journalism, Public Communications or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Technology, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Communication studies, Media Studies/Science, TV Production, Media, Broadcast Production, Journalism, Public Communications or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
