Girwa FM is a licensed radio station broadcasting in Dholuo, running lifestyle and entertainment programs in counties like Homabay, Migori, Kisumu, Siaya, and their surroundings. The station is seeking an enthusiastic ICT & Broadcast Technology Assistant for a 6-month internship/volunteer opportunity.
Role Overview
This position is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in both ICT systems and broadcast technologies in a media environment. Successful interns and volunteers who demonstrate commitment and outstanding performance will receive a Certificate of Service and priority consideration for future employment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the station website and digital platforms.
Support online radio streaming and live broadcasts.
Perform system backups and data recovery.
Assist in ICT system design, networking, and maintenance.
Work closely with the Videographer & Photographer to support online streaming and multimedia production.
Troubleshoot computers, networking equipment, and broadcasting systems.
Support installation and maintenance of broadcasting software.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of networking, web administration, and multimedia systems is an added advantage.
