Information about the role\n\nThe Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is seeking an ICT Assistant for its Kargeno site in Kisumu. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and functionality of the study site's IT infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide essential technical support, maintain hardware and software systems, and ensure data integrity through regular backups.\n\n### Responsibilities\n\n* Assist in the regular maintenance and configuration of hardware and software.\n* Perform installation and configuration of various software applications.\n* Assist with data backups and perform data-related tasks as assigned.\n* Troubleshoot malfunctions in PCs and other hardware components.\n* Offer technical consultation and recommendations to the study team.\n* Work closely with the ICT Officer to resolve internet connectivity issues and downtime.\n* Provide training and support to staff on new IT requirements and compliance with ICT policies and government regulations.\n* Conduct Continuous Medical Education (CME) for staff members on emerging IT trends and issues.\n\n### Requirements\n\n* A mandatory Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field.\n* Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.\n* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\n* Flexibility and a willingness to perform a wide range of tasks as needed.\n* A strong commitment to integrity and maintaining high-quality performance standards.\n* Strong interpersonal skills.\n* Exceptional attention to detail.\n\n### How to Apply\n\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the official Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) e-recruitment portal at https://erecruitment.kemri.go.ke on or before March 1, 2026.
