Job Description
Kenya Highlands Seminary, a subsidiary of Kenya Highlands University, is seeking a dedicated ICT Assistant. The ICT Assistant is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the seminary's IT systems to ensure the efficient delivery of theological education, administrative operations, and ministry training. This role is crucial in supporting faculty, staff, and seminarians by ensuring reliable access to computers, networks, learning systems, and digital resources.
Responsibilities and Duties
Provide technical support and maintain the seminary's IT systems.
Support faculty, staff, and seminarians with access to computers, networks, and digital resources.
Perform hardware installation and troubleshooting.
Manage basic networking tasks including LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, and switches.
Oversee basic cybersecurity and antivirus systems to protect institutional data.
Manage and support institutional email systems and online learning platforms.
Qualifications and Experience
A Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 1 year of relevant IT support experience is preferred.
Previous experience working in an academic or institutional environment is considered an advantage.
Technical Competencies
Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
Proficient hardware installation and troubleshooting skills.
Basic knowledge of cybersecurity protocols and antivirus systems.
Familiarity with email systems and online learning platforms (LMS).
