Job Description
Role Overview\nThe HR Associate at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of employees, with a primary focus on onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and leave management. The role ensures that all HR processes are conducted in compliance with Kenya labor laws and organizational policies while providing exceptional customer service to IHUB staff members.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n\n#### Onboarding & Offboarding\n* Lead the full onboarding process including pre-arrival communication, orientation scheduling, documentation collection, and system setup.\n* Proactively engage with candidates after the offer is signed to ensure a positive experience.\n* Track onboarding tasks across systems like Workday, Cornerstone, and Teams.\n* Provide onboarding kits and facilitate introductions to teams.\n* Lead structured exit processes, including terminal dues processing and final clearance in line with Kenya labor law.\n* Conduct exit interviews and ensure the HR Lead is informed of feedback.\n\n#### Benefits Administration\n* Manage paperwork for employee benefits including medical insurance, group life, GPA, pension, and wellness programs.\n* Ensure timely enrollment and termination of staff in benefits programs.\n* Liaise with insurance providers for claims, renewals, and policy updates.\n* Track utilization and cost data to support benefits budgeting and renewal negotiations.\n\n#### Leave Management\n* Oversee end-to-end leave management, including tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.\n* Provide guidance to staff on all types of leave (annual, sick, parental, etc.) while ensuring compliance with labor laws.\n* Audit leave balances in Workday and coordinate manual adjustments or payroll corrections as needed.\n* Support workforce planning through detailed leave utilization reports and dashboards.\n\n#### HRIS & Records Management\n* Maintain data accuracy and system updates for IHUB staff in the HRIS (Workday).\n* Coordinate the management and maintenance of staff contracts and personnel files.\n* Prepare reports and presentations on HR-related metrics such as departmental hire counts and DEI reports.\n\n### Qualifications and Experience\n* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline from a recognized institution.\n* At least three (3) years of human resource experience required.\n* Active membership in the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing.\n* Strong knowledge of Kenya Employment laws and regulations.\n* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills being essential.\n* Experience with Workday or Cornerstone is a plus.\n* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills with a focus on confidentiality.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply online through the International Rescue Committee's career portal by visiting the provided application link.
