The International NGO Safety Organisation (INSO) is seeking an experienced Information Manager to join the HQ Data, Technology and Learning (DTL) team. This position offers an opportunity to shape how data keeps humanitarians safe across more than 24 countries and contexts, leading quality assurance for INSO's core systems including the Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC) and the INSO Portal & App, as well as implementing harmonized Visualisation Standards across all teams.
Reporting to the Senior Information Manager, you will turn global data practices into clear standards, tools, and training to assist INSO teams in complex environments. You will also cover for the Senior Information Manager during their absence and lead initiatives and projects across the DTL department.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the Conflict & Humanitarian Data Centre (CHDC)
Serve as INSO's focal point on CHDC methodology, standards, and reference data, guiding Country Offices toward best practices.
Build tools and automations to catch errors early and maintain high data quality globally.
Deliver tool-related trainings, inductions, and webinars to Country Office teams and partners.
Manage the INSO Portal, App & Platforms
Function as the global administrator of the INSO Portal, providing guidelines, driving consistent usage, and managing feedback loops within all Country Offices.
Build and deliver inductions and trainings on core workflows such as partner registration, user management, and support.
Ensure a partner-centric approach across platforms, communications, and documentation.
Implement and Support INSO Visualisation Standards
Maintain Visualisation Standards guidelines, documents, and templates.
Support Country Offices in adopting visualization standards for smooth transition.
Automate ETL, dashboard, and mapping workflows to optimize efficiency.
Build and maintain ArcGIS templates and geodatabases for global use.
Lead Global Coordination
Step in for the Senior Information Manager during absences.
Coordinate communications between Country Offices and HQ.
Resolve Helpdesk tickets and maintain the Information Management SharePoint site.
Contribute to onboarding, recruitment, and wider DTL projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements
5+ years of experience in data management, data visualisation, or information management.
Minimum 2 years of experience managing a team.
Experience with Power BI and DAX, or similar BI software (such as Tableau).
Proficiency in database management using SQL.
Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or R.
Fluency in English (both written and verbal).
Basic knowledge of GIS software and systems (e.g., QGIS or ArcGIS).
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences.
Desirable Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, GIS, or a relevant field.
Experience working with humanitarian organisations, particularly NGOs operating in complex contexts.
Knowledge of or previous professional experience in Myanmar.
Experience delivering training or capacity building related to data or information management tools.
