This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the office premises (specifically referred to as the Chancery) to ensure a professional and welcoming environment. The Housekeeper is responsible for routine cleaning, managing waste, assisting with deliveries, and supporting office functions such as meeting preparation.
Responsibilities and Duties
Office Cleaning: Clean office areas according to the schedule, including vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping floors and staircases.
Surface Care: Dust furniture, clean windows (interior), clean blinds, and maintain terrace furniture.
Sanitary Maintenance: Clean toilet areas and replenish supplies as needed.
Waste Management: Empty bins and shredders throughout the facility.
Kitchen and Terrace Support: Clear dishes, load/unload the dishwasher, and water plants on the terrace.
Logistics and Supplies: Assist with deliveries (e.g., drinking water) and accompany external suppliers or maintenance workers during their visits to the premises.
Meeting Support: Assist in preparing conference rooms by ensuring cleanliness and providing refreshments like coffee, tea, and other drinks.
Reporting: Inform the supervisor regarding cleaning issues, maintenance needs, or supply shortages in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: At least a K.C.S.E (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) certificate.
Knowledge: Understanding of professional cleaning materials, chemicals, and techniques.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with cleaning appliances and professional products.
Soft Skills: Ability to form positive contacts with suppliers, maintenance workers, and embassy staff; excellent rapport creation with visitors.
Attributes: Proactive, enthusiastic, and attentive to detail.
