Thika Technical Training Institute is a Government Technical Training institute established under the Ministry of Education, State Department for Vocational and Technical Training. The institute is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Hospitality and Tourism Trainer (Degree holders).
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering instructional content and training to students within the Hospitality and Tourism department. The role requires a blend of theoretical teaching and practical instruction in catering and accommodation management, ensuring students meet the standards required by the industry and TVET Authority.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality instruction in Hospitality Management, Tourism, and Catering.
Prepare comprehensive schemes of work, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
Conduct practical training sessions in accommodation and food service environments.
Evaluate and assess student progress through internal examinations and practical tests.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and academic performance.
Provide mentorship and career guidance to students.
Support departmental and institutional administrative activities as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Hospitality and Tourism, Catering and Accommodation, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Must be licensed by the TVET Authority (TVETA) or meet the specific requirements for licensing.
Must be computer literate.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
