Victory Farms is seeking a Head of Processing Plant to lead end-to-end operations, driving performance against key KPIs while ensuring efficient daily execution. The role is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality, cost, and productivity, and delivering consistent operational performance through strong leadership and accountability. Victory Farms is a tilapia fish farm established in 2015, located on the Kenyan side of Lake Victoria with distribution capacity throughout Kenya.
Key Responsibilities
Run and Stabilize Processing Operations
- Own end-to-end operations (processing, fish meal, novel).
- Directly manage supervisors and managers across functions.
- Be present on the floor to drive execution, solve problems, and enforce standards.
- Bring structure and control to daily operations.
Performance Management and KPIs
- Closely monitor KPIs such as throughput, yield, costs, and quality.
- Establish daily tracking and performance routines to build a culture of accountability.
Drive Improvement and Scale Output
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
- Lead initiatives to improve yield, productivity, and cost efficiency.
- Run trials and implement process improvements.
- Scale operations in a controlled and repeatable way.
Systems Planning and Partnership
- Implement simple, effective operational systems and processes.
- Oversee production planning and capacity management.
- Coordinate with harvesting, logistics, and other support functions.
- Work with technical teams to implement and improve data systems.
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, processing, or industrial operations, ideally in horticulture or floriculture.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and scaling the operations of a similar facility.
- Experience improving performance in fast-paced environments.
- Strong operational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to implement structure, KPIs, and systems.
- Comfortable working with data and performance metrics.
- Ability to balance hands-on execution with planning and improvement.
