GrowthAfrica is seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance, Legal Affairs & Administration to lead the organisation's financial strategy, legal compliance, and administrative operations. This senior leadership role involves overseeing financial operations across multiple country offices, managing grant cycles, and designing financial instruments for entrepreneurs. You will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, linking financial intelligence to strategic decision-making and ensuring regulatory compliance across all operating jurisdictions.\n\n### Key Responsibilities\n- Lead GrowthAfrica's financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning across all country offices.\n- Oversee all financial operations, including management accounts, cash flow, payroll, treasury, and audit, in full compliance with accounting standards and donor requirements.\n- Own the complete inward grant financial management cycle, from budget setup and expenditure tracking through to donor financial reporting and grant close-out reconciliation.\n- Design, deploy, and manage the financial instruments through which GrowthAfrica channels funding to entrepreneurs, overseeing disbursement, portfolio monitoring, legal documentation, and default management.\n- Lead the financial design of every funding proposal, building rigorous cost models and stress-testing technical assumptions.\n- Conduct forensic post-project financial reviews and translate variance analysis into lessons learned to sharpen future proposals.\n- Manage all legal affairs across operating jurisdictions, including contracts, grant agreements, employment law, data protection, and intellectual property.\n- Ensure regulatory and governance compliance across all six operating countries, covering statutory filings and Board secretarial support.\n- Design and manage staff time-recording and cost-allocation systems for accurate project costing and audit compliance.\n- Partner with the Head of Talent to align workforce planning and salary structures with project budgets.\n- Lead procurement, vendor management, and administrative operations, including facilities, travel, and asset management across all offices.\n- Contribute financial and legal expertise directly to entrepreneur-facing programmes as a subject-matter resource.\n- Serve on the Senior Leadership Team, leading organisational risk management and presenting to the Board.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements\n- Master's degree or professional qualification in Finance, Accounting, Law, or Business Administration (CPA, ACCA, CFA, LLB/LLM, or MBA preferred).\n- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance, legal affairs, or operations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.\n- Proven track record managing financial operations in a multi-country, donor-funded, or development sector environment.\n- Demonstrated experience in grant management and financial reporting to institutional funders, foundations, or development finance institutions.\n- Experience managing financial instruments for onward deployment to enterprises (e.g., impact investment, development finance).\n- Hands-on experience in proposal costing and budget development for grant bids.\n- Experience conducting post-project financial reviews and translating variance analysis into improved future pricing.\n- Solid working knowledge of timesheet systems and staff cost allocation methodologies.\n- Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks across multiple African jurisdictions.\n- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n- Proficiency in financial management software and data analytics tools.\n- Membership of a relevant professional body and international or multi-market African exposure are highly advantageous.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified candidates should apply through the official application form hosted on Google Docs.
