The Head of Credit Control at Imara Mediplus Medical Centre is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing the credit granting process, debt collection, and risk management. The role involves driving efficiency, ensuring strict compliance with credit policies, and managing receivables to maximize the facility's cash flow. Imara Mediplus Centre is a multi-specialty outpatient medical facility focused on providing holistic and compassionate all-inclusive healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement robust credit management strategies, policies, and procedures.
Perform credit assessments (KYC), maintain a risk register, and proactively identify emerging credit risks.
Lead, manage, and mentor the credit control team to reduce debtor days, increase collections, and minimize bad debt.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including trend analysis and cash inflow forecasts for management.
Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and relevant legal frameworks.
Maintain professional relationships with clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data protection, and internal controls.
Produce regular reports on debtor performance, risks, and cash flow forecasts.
Drive continuous improvement in systems and processes.
Maintain all contracts signed with all hospital debtors.
Develop credit management capacity within the department.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields from a recognized institution.
Professional qualification in credit management (e.g., CICM - Chartered Institute of Credit Management) is a strong advantage.
3-5+ years of experience in credit control, with proven experience in a Healthcare setting.
Proficient in computer applications and financial software.
Membership with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
