Job Description
As the Head of Commercial for Glovo Kenya, you will be responsible for defining and executing the overall commercial strategy, driving sustainable growth across a diverse portfolio of partners, from major restaurant chains to independent local eateries, while pioneering innovative advertising solutions. You will lead a high-performing team across three core verticals: Sales (onboarding new partners), Key Account Management (strategic growth of top industry players), and Advertising & Monetization (defining the commercial vision and performance for the advertising vertical). Reporting directly to the General Manager of Kenya, you will work closely with regional and global stakeholders, including C-level executives of partner organizations.
Key Responsibilities
Define, own, and execute the country-level commercial strategy to drive growth in net revenue, order volume, and market share.
Build, manage, and inspire a diverse, high-performing team across sales, account management, advertising, and on-demand services.
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and talent development, establishing clear performance standards and coaching frameworks.
Oversee sales teams in identifying and scaling new restaurant partnerships that enhance the customer value proposition.
Manage strategic relationships with Top Accounts, co-developing initiatives to accelerate partner growth.
Drive the Advertising and Monetization strategy, including commercial modeling, pricing, and go-to-market plans.
Utilize data analysis and commercial acumen to identify growth levers and process optimizations.
Serve as the primary commercial Point of Contact (POC) for Regional and HQ stakeholders to implement global best practices.
Continuously improve internal processes and tools to enhance efficiency and scale.
Make autonomous, high-impact decisions in a fast-paced environment aligned with the company’s strategic vision.
Requirements and Qualifications
10+ years of experience in commercial leadership, preferably within top-tier consulting, high-growth tech, or large-scale operations.
Proven track record of leading large, diverse teams in dynamic commercial functions.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills with the ability to define actionable plans in complex environments.
A hands-on leadership style with the ability to dive into details while empowering others.
Extensive experience engaging with C-Level stakeholders and leading complex negotiations.
Exceptional communication skills, capable of crafting compelling narratives and influencing at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to foster cross-functional collaboration across sales, marketing, operations, and finance.
Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a bias for action in ambiguous settings.
Fluency in English is required; Swahili is a strong plus.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
