Role Contribution
In this role, you will support the Senior Director Risk & Resilience, ensuring the Foundation’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework and practices are aligned with leading practices. You will leverage technology, analytics, scenario planning, and other techniques for risk identification to support the Foundation’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
ERM Strategy & Framework: Ensure alignment with leading practices, using technology and analytics for risk identification.
Risk Coordination: Oversee risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring across internal functions and strategic initiatives.
Strategic Advisory: Provide risk advisory support for new and ongoing strategic initiatives during planning and execution.
Risk Culture: Foster strong risk behaviors and shared understanding of risk appetite and processes among teams and champions.
Integration: Promote the integration of risk management into planning, operations, and strategic decision-making.
Review & Insight: Evaluate risk registers submitted by champions and provide actionable insights for improvement.
Emerging Risks: Monitor and analyze trends and emerging risks relevant to enterprise activities.
Compliance: Conduct regular spot checks and reviews to assess compliance with risk management policies.
Resilience: Support the development of business resilience strategies, including crisis management and business continuity plans.
Capacity Building: Deliver tailored training for staff and implementing partners on risk management tools.
Reporting: Prepare consolidated enterprise risk reports and updates for senior leadership, escalating significant incidents as necessary.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, International Development, Public Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field; a Master’s degree and professional risk certifications are strong assets.
Over 10 years of experience in risk management with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
Demonstrated experience in strategic risk assessments and implementing risk frameworks in multi-country organisations.
Experience working in culturally diverse environments; proficiency in English is required and French is an asset.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
High integrity, sound judgement, and the confidence to uphold principled positions.
Agile and adaptable, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
