Kisiwa Technical Training Institute is seeking a qualified and motivated Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Trainer to join their academic team. The primary objective of this role is to facilitate the acquisition of technical skills and knowledge by students in the beauty industry, preparing them for professional careers and self-reliance. Originally founded in 1961 to prepare youth for employment, the institute continues this mission under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction and Training: Conduct comprehensive training sessions on technical subjects related to hairdressing and beauty therapy.
Student Assessment: Monitor and evaluate student progress through regular assessments, practical tests, and theoretical examinations.
Attachment Supervision: Supervise students during their Industrial Attachment to ensure they gain relevant field experience and apply classroom learning.
Research: Undertake research within the respective training area to stay abreast of current industry trends, techniques, and technologies.
Curriculum Development: Design and update curriculum and training materials tailored to specific learning objectives and industry standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
Academic Qualification: Must hold a Diploma in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy.
Professional Training: Must possess a Certificate in pedagogy (teaching methodology).
Professional Registration: Must be registered with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
