Role Overview\nThis is the entry grade for graduate teachers in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE). A teacher at this level will work under the supervision of a more senior teacher for the purposes of professional mentoring and growth.\n\n### Duties and Responsibilities\n- Facilitate learning and conduct classroom sessions for young learners.\n- Act as a role model, providing guidance, counseling, mentoring, and motivation to learners.\n- Prepare progress reports and maintain professional records of learners' assessments.\n- Ensure the overall safety and security of the learners within the ECDE center.\n- Develop and facilitate play/learning activities that enable learners to enjoy living and learning through play.\n- Create relevant play and learning materials suitable for all learners.\n- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, daily programs of activities, and assist in planning ECDE center programs.\n- Conduct research on ECDE, participate in stakeholder engagement, and mobilize communities on the need for ECDE.\n- Assist in the implementation of ECDE policies within the county.\n\n### Requirements for Appointment\nFor direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must be in possession of:\n- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade C+ (Plus) or approved equivalent; OR\n- KCSE minimum grade C (Plain) plus a Diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education (KNEC/Ministry of Education); OR\n- KCSE minimum grade D+ (Plus) and Certificate in ECDE plus Diploma in ECDE (KNEC/Ministry of Education).\n- A Degree in Early Childhood Development and Education offered by a recognized Institution of higher learning.\n- Mandatory registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).\n- A certificate in computer applications.\n- Certificate of Good Conduct from the National Police Service.\n- Valid medical report from a registered government health facility.\n- Compliance with the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.\n\n### Salary and Terms\n- Job Group “K"\n- Kshs. 41,420 - 57,230 p.m.\n- Permanent & Pensionable\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested and qualified persons are requested to make their applications ONLINE through the Boards website: or jobs portal: .\n\n\n- Applications must reach the Board on or before 5:00 pm. on Wednesday, 15th April, 2026.\n- It is an offence to include incorrect information in the application.\n- Only shortlisted and successful applicants will be contacted.\n- Shortlisted candidates must produce original Identity Cards, academic/professional certificates, and testimonials during interviews.\n- Shortlisted candidates will be required to obtain clearance from CID (Good Conduct), CRB, HELB, KRA, and EACC.\n- The Board does not charge any fees for job applications.
