St Andrew’s Senior School is seeking to appoint two Sports Graduate Assistants who will assist the Director of Sport and a House Parent respectively. These roles are ideal for individuals looking to develop their coaching and leadership capacities within a premier international school environment. We are particularly interested in applicants with coaching expertise or interest in basketball, hockey, volleyball, cricket, football, or rugby.
Responsibilities
Co-curricular and Sport
Coaching of sports teams for both boys and girls aged 13 to 19 years old, including leading sports tours.
Assisting in the running of the broader co-curricular and sports programs.
Assisting in instructing, teaching, and coaching student games during P.E. lessons, practice, and competition.
Participating in the provision of the adventure program.
Supporting the running of the weekend activities program.
Helping with the Service program.
Pastoral Care
Working within one of the boarding house teams, including pastoral duties in the evening and weekends.
Acting as a role model in all areas to pupils within the boarding house and around the school.
Working with Houseparents to support individual pupils as needs arise.
Attending a weekly Boarding House team meeting.
Assisting with the registration of students.
Supporting the Houseparent with administrative tasks needed for boarding operations.
General Responsibilities
Supporting the School’s Christian ethos as well as supporting the Chaplaincy team.
Reinforcing co-curricular and sporting provision.
Enhancing the pastoral care of students.
Performing general administrative duties.
Person Specification
Christian Faith: It is essential that the applicant is a practicing Christian who can support the School’s aims and Christian ethos.
Education: A degree in education or a related field is required.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, a passion for working with youth, and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
Attributes: Creative, diligent, adaptable, energetic, and resilient.
Experience: Experience of working in a school environment or in boarding is desirable, but not essential.
