Role Overview
The Graduate Assistant in Software Development provides a valuable opportunity for recent graduates to gain comprehensive academic, research, and teaching support experience within the field of Software Development. The candidate will support high-quality teaching, learning, and research activities within the department while preparing for a career in academia or advanced research.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Assist lecturers in the preparation of teaching materials, tutorials, and relevant coursework.
Facilitate discussion groups, tutorials, and practical sessions for students.
Support the marking of assignments, tests, and examinations under senior supervision.
Provide academic support and general guidance to undergraduate students.
Research Coordination
Actively engage in research activities, including literature reviews, data collection, and analytical tasks.
Assist with various research projects, including the preparation of detailed reports, presentations, and grant development documentation.
Administrative and Student Support
Assist the department in maintaining accurate student records and performing data entry tasks.
Help organize departmental activities, including seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and ceremonies.
Perform assigned administrative duties and support student activities.
Refer students to appropriate support services as needed.
Supervise undergraduate interns where applicable.
Participate in departmental and faculty meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited university.
A strong academic record with at least a Second-Class Upper Division or equivalent (First-class honors is an added advantage).
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program.
Demonstrated interest in research, teaching, or consultancy.
