The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) is seeking to recruit qualified individuals for the position of Gardener. This role is essential for maintaining the aesthetic and environmental quality of the institute's grounds, ensuring a clean and well-landscaped environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) was established in 1961 and was named as the then Voice of Kenya Training School. Its main purpose was to train electronic engineering and technicians for the then, Kenya Broadcasting Service (KBS), that was later rebranded in 1962 as the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC).
Role Purpose
The primary responsibility of the Gardeners will be to tend to the institute's gardens, lawns, and plants to ensure they are healthy and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
Maintain gardens, lawns, and plants across the institute.
Perform landscaping and aesthetic improvements to the campus grounds.
Ensure a clean and well-ordered outdoor environment.
Prune, water, and weed garden beds.
Monitor plant health and address issues as they arise.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must possess a KCSE Certificate with a minimum mean grade of D Plain.
Physical ability to perform manual labor outdoors.
Attention to detail regarding garden aesthetics.
Willingness to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
