Moja Expressway Company is looking to hire two (2) Gardeners to join the team of experts behind the Nairobi Expressway Project. The successful candidates will be responsible for the maintenance and beautification of lawns, flower beds, trees, and hedges within the project areas. The role involves managing irrigation, controlling pests, and ensuring the overall health and aesthetics of the greenery while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain lawns, flower beds, trees, and hedges through regular care.
Water plants and manage irrigation systems to ensure optimal hydration.
Plant, prune, and replace vegetation as required to maintain landscaping standards.
Control weeds, pests, and plant diseases using appropriate methods.
Apply fertilizers and manure to support healthy plant growth.
Keep the compound clean by sweeping, collecting waste, and ensuring proper disposal.
Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, slashers).
Monitor plant health and promptly report any issues.
Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines at all times.
Support various landscaping and beautification projects.
Requirements
Must possess a KCSE certificate.
Horticulture training is considered an added advantage.
Candidates must be between the age of 25–35 years.
Proven ability to maintain lawns, flowers, trees, and hedges.
Skilled in the use of gardening tools and equipment.
Knowledge of plant care, soil management, and pest control.
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Basic understanding of irrigation and water management.
Knowledge of health and safety practices, including safe chemical handling and use of protective gear.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
Reliable, disciplined, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Must have a valid National ID.
A Certificate of Good Conduct is an added advantage.
