The Fund Administration Manager is responsible for overseeing the administration and operational aspects of investment funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, accurate reporting, and efficient management of fund activities. This role acts as a key liaison between internal teams, external service providers, and regulatory bodies to maintain the integrity and performance of the funds.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Administration (40%)
Maintain accurate records, calculate net asset values, and generate reports for investors, managers, and regulators.
Track investments, handle trade settlements, and reconcile positions with custodians.
Manage investments and redemption requests, distribute capital gains, and communicate with AAML.
Navigate the complex regulatory landscape applicable to different fund types and ensure adherence to best practices.
Ensure smooth operation and compliance of an entire investment fund.
Execute fund accounting, financial reporting, net asset value calculation, capital calls, and investor communications.
Transaction Processing (40%)
Ensure overall processing of trade and related transactions, including withdrawals, transfers, and switches.
Process daily corporate actions and maintain client investments/portfolio pricing.
Action trade and position break reports, including daily reconciliations of assets and cash.
Prepare accurate financial statements, regulatory reports, and timely tax reporting.
Compute performance fees and calculate net asset value (daily, weekly, monthly).
Ensure timely distribution and track return of capital/rates.
Maintain compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) procedures and internal systems.
People Management (10%)
Lead and mentor the fund administration team, ensuring training and development.
Conduct performance reviews and set clear objectives.
Implement best practices and seek process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Risk Management (10%)
Identify and mitigate risks associated with fund operations.
Investigate and resolve exceptions or discrepancies by collaborating with IT, risk, and finance departments.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications.
Experience: Appreciation of the overall Asset management industry and its impact on business.
Knowledge: Understanding of banking operating systems, processes, and operational risk policies.
Skills: Strong leadership capabilities and excellent knowledge of customer service standards.
