Equip Africa Institute, a subsidiary of Mount Kenya University, is recruiting six (6) Full-time Trainers in Public Health for its Thika Centre. The successful candidates will be responsible for providing high-quality training and education to students, ensuring they meet the required competencies in public health as outlined in the curriculum. The role involves curriculum delivery, student assessment, and professional record-keeping.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Planning: Plan, prepare, and teach assigned units as outlined in the course curriculum and outlines.
Material Development: Develop learning materials and ensure timely preparation and submission of professional records.
Student Progress Monitoring: Maintain records to monitor student progress, achievement, and attendance.
Individualized Learning: Plan and deliver appropriate learning plans for individual students to ensure academic success.
Assessment: Assess students' work, mark Trainees’ Assessment Tests (C.A.Ts and end-of-term assessments), and timely upload marks into the Management Information System (MIS).
Practical Instruction: Carry out practical instructions for trainees and maintain their portfolios of evidence.
Supervision: Oversee students during assessments and examinations.
Curriculum Contribution: Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of high-quality curricula and engage in the course review process.
Departmental Support: Participate in departmental meetings and perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from a recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in training within a similar institution.
Professional Licenses:
Valid registration and a current practicing license with the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council (PHOTC).
Valid Technical Trainer Registration by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA).
