Role Overview
AGL (Africa Global Logistics) is seeking a Freight Forwarding Operations Supervisor - Declaration M/F in Nairobi. The role is responsible for overseeing customs declaration processes, ensuring accurate and timely entry submissions in iCMS and TFP systems, managing declarant file allocations, resolving customs queries, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Acknowledge Receipt & Pre-Declaration Review: Acknowledge receipt of full document sets from IFFOS Operators; verify validity and completeness; allocate files to declarants; liaise with team leaders to request missing info; ensure declarations are accurate in iCMS, SPOT, and WAY; submit PGA-CDs, KEBS-CD, and PA-CDs in TFP.
Customs Entry Lodgment & Work Distribution: Lodge customs entries in iCMS; ensure fair work distribution; ensure declarants meet daily KPI target of 100 lines per day.
Continuous Monitoring & Follow-Up: Monitor TFP and iCMS systems continuously for entry approvals; respond promptly to rejected entries/permits; escalate issues to avoid delays.
Support & Coordination: Provide guidance on customs documentation, duties, and regulations to Team Leaders, Supervisors, and Port Operators.
Query Resolution & Escalation: Handle customs queries; escalate unresolved issues within 24 hours; conduct physical interventions at relevant offices/ports when necessary.
Reporting & Monitoring: Share daily Job Allocation Reports and enforce submission of Daily Activity Reports by declarants.
Duty and Tax Projection: Perform accurate duty, tax, and bond projections to support entry processing.
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding (C & F) or related field.
iCMS training.
East African Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate (EAFFPC) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a busy logistics/freight forwarding industry.
