Liberty Life Assurance Kenya is seeking a Forensic Investigator to implement an effective anti-fraud environment. The role focuses on deterring and detecting fraud, investigating incidents, and building capabilities to improve the control environment using digital forensics.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out forensic investigations into cases of suspected fraud.
Conduct fraud awareness campaigns for all stakeholders.
Undertake fraud risk assessments to strengthen mitigation measures.
Investigate and manage the chain of custody of evidence for decision-making and support of due process.
Conduct reviews and deep dives to ascertain control effectiveness.
Develop analytics and forward-looking trend analysis to enable enhanced fraud detection techniques.
Update the fraud database and prepare monthly statistical reports.
Conduct investigations requiring digital forensics tools/capability and build internal digital forensics capability.
Engage with law enforcement agencies (such as IFIU) and represent the company in court proceedings.
Support the preparation of monthly Operations Committee reports.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification.
CISA/CFA qualification is an added advantage.
At least 5 years of working experience in an audit-related field, with at least 2 years specifically in forensic audits.
Competencies
In-depth understanding of insurance operations and concepts.
Good understanding of the legislative framework related to fraud investigation.
Understanding of security and incident management processes and controls.
Proficient in investigation assessment techniques and risk response strategies.
Knowledge of audit procedures and common laws regarding fraud, corruption, and bribery.
Good knowledge of insurance and information systems.
Ability to use digital forensic tools.
Strong report-writing skills and strategic decision-making ability.
High moral and ethical standing.
