Role Overview
The Forensic Investigation & Data Analytics Intern will support the execution of forensic investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, and unethical behavior across Jubilee Insurance. This role combines structured investigative exposure with in-depth data interrogation, anomaly detection, and fraud trend analysis to strengthen investigative outcomes, loss quantification, and control improvement. The intern will work within the Forensics & Security Services Department, upholding the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives
Support fraud risk management initiatives through investigative input and data-driven insights.
Analyze fraud trends and emerging risk indicators using structured datasets to inform preventive controls.
Contribute to the development of fraud analytics dashboards, scripts, and monitoring tools.
Provide analytical support to strengthen early detection mechanisms.
Operational Duties
Support the planning and execution of forensic investigations into suspected misconduct.
Extract and analyze large datasets from internal systems to identify anomalies and suspicious transactions.
Apply advanced analytical techniques such as trend analysis, outlier detection, and pattern recognition.
Assist in the collection, organization, and preservation of physical and digital evidence.
Prepare structured working papers, analytical summaries, and draft investigation reports.
Support loss quantification exercises using data modeling and reconciliation techniques.
Maintain case management systems and investigation trackers.
Review CCTV footage and access control logs when required.
Identify control weaknesses and systemic gaps through combined findings.
Corporate Governance & Culture
Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards during investigations.
Maintain confidentiality and governance standards in evidence handling.
Support fraud awareness initiatives through data-backed insights.
Promote a culture of integrity and accountability.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Criminology, Forensic Science, or a related field with strong quantitative components.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Power BI, Google Data Analytics, IBM Data Analyst, Tableau, or SQL/Python analytics are required. Progress toward a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation is an added advantage.
Experience: Demonstrated analytical capability through academic research, structured data projects, or previous internship programs involving data interrogation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel (Advanced), Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools.
Soft Skills: Integrity, professional skepticism, strong critical thinking, and effective communication skills.
