Job Description
Boma International Hospitality College (BIHC), in partnership with the Business and Hotel Management School (BHMS) in Switzerland, is seeking a Food and Beverage Service Manager & Lecturer. This dual-purpose role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the college's food and beverage outlets while simultaneously acting as a lecturer and mentor to hospitality students. The position requires a professional who can maintain high operational standards in a commercial-style environment while effectively delivering practical training and education.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight: Manage the daily operations of all food and beverage service outlets, including restaurants and coffee shops.
Inventory & Procurement: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the procurement of food, beverages, equipment, and supplies to ensure uninterrupted service.
Quality Assurance: Inspect F&B supplies, equipment, and work areas to maintain cleanliness, functionality, and strict adherence to quality standards.
Compliance: Ensure total compliance with health, food safety, and hygiene regulations, including monitoring student adherence to these standards.
Student Mentorship: Supervise, mentor, and schedule students; assign duties and monitor their performance according to training objectives.
Service Standards: Establish and enforce service standards to enhance the customer experience and maintain high-quality delivery.
Kitchen Coordination: Work closely with the kitchen team regarding menu planning, food production, and timely service delivery for both training and operational needs.
Customer Service: Investigate customer complaints regarding food or service quality and implement prompt corrective actions.
Financial Management: Manage budgets, control costs, and review financial transactions to ensure profitability and accountability.
Training Support: Assist in developing and implementing training programs for students specializing in restaurant service and dining operations.
Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on operational performance, service standards, and student training outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, Events, or an equivalent field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience specifically as a Food & Beverage Service Manager.
Industry Commitment: A deep understanding of and commitment to the hospitality industry.
Technical Skills: Outstanding F&B service techniques and proficiency in interpersonal relationships.
Problem Solving: Ability to spot and resolve issues efficiently and work effectively under extreme pressure.
Instructional Ability: Proven ability to train students in various service styles and techniques within a training restaurant setting.
Software Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office, restaurant management software, and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
