The mission of Childcare Worldwide (CW) is to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ to children in need, supporting them to reach their God-given potential. CW is seeking a Finance Manager to lead and oversee all finance operations within the Kenya office, ensuring faithful stewardship of all ministry resources. The role involves financial leadership, safeguarding financial integrity, and providing insights to support the Country Director in making mission-aligned decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Oversight
Lead and oversee all finance operations within the Kenya office.
Safeguard financial integrity, accuracy, and completeness across all accounting functions.
Provide financial reports, analysis, and insights to support leadership decisions.
Strengthen finance systems, documentation, and process clarity.
Promote a culture of ownership and excellence within the finance function.
Accounting, Reporting & Analysis
Maintain accurate and timely financial records in QuickBooks Online.
Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and leadership reports.
Review and reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and adjustment registers.
Identify discrepancies and implement corrective action plans.
Ensure accruals, reserves, and reconciliations are properly recorded.
Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
Develop and maintain internal control systems aligned with best practices.
Ensure full compliance with Kenya statutory requirements including PAYE, NSSF, and NHIF.
Lead audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
Proactively implement audit recommendations to strengthen controls.
Monitor financial records for control weaknesses or potential risks.
Budget & Financial Planning
Partner with department leads to develop annual budgets aligned with ministry priorities.
Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
Ensure leadership decisions are supported by reliable financial projections.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Work closely with the Finance Assistant to support day-to-day operations.
Provide oversight of administrative operations including procurement and vendor approvals.
Collaborate with regional finance leaders (e.g., Uganda) to promote shared standards.

Professional Competencies
Education & Certification
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
CPA (K) certification strongly preferred; ACCA or equivalent international certification will also be considered.
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably within an NGO or nonprofit environment.
Demonstrated experience preparing for and responding to external audits.
