Finacle Support Engineer

The Finacle Support Engineer is responsible for providing high-level technical support for the Finacle Core Banking System (CBS). This role involves monitoring system performance, ensuring optimal uptime, and resolving complex technical incidents within defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The jobholder will configure and customize the system based on business requirements, coordinate with external vendors for issue resolution, and maintain detailed operational documentation. Key objectives include ensuring system compliance with security standards, deploying patches and upgrades across environments, and supporting integrations with various peripheral banking systems and channels. This role also involves mentoring team members and contributing to project-based initiatives within the bank.\n\n### Responsibilities\n- Provide L2/L3 technical support for the Finacle Core Banking System.\n- Monitor performance and availability to maintain system stability.\n- Diagnose and resolve functional and technical incidents within SLAs.\n- Configure and customize systems to meet specific user and business requirements.\n- Handle queries from bank branches and departments regarding system functionality.\n- Liaise with vendors for support and timely resolution of escalated issues.\n- Create and update change logs, operational run books, and technical knowledge bases.\n- Manage regular patching, version upgrades, and environment control.\n- Deploy parameter changes and scheduled configuration updates.\n- Assist in the integration of Finacle with external channels and peripheral systems.\n- Provide expertise for assigned bank-wide projects and initiatives.\n- Provide guidance and mentorship to other technical staff members.\n\n### Qualifications and Requirements\n- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n- Minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in supporting and using Banking Applications.\n- Proven hands-on experience with Finacle CBS version 10x and 11x modules.\n- Functional and technical training in Finacle 10x/11x is mandatory.\n- Deep expertise in Unix Operating Systems including AIX, RHEL, and Solaris.\n- Practical experience with Java Application Servers such as WebSphere, WebLogic, or JBoss.\n- Proficiency in Oracle RDBMS Administration along with SQL and PL/SQL scripting abilities.\n- Possess ITIL Certification and relevant Project Management skills.\n- Knowledge of business requirements documentation and design thinking methodologies.\n- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities.\n- Effective communication and influencing skills with a results-oriented mindset.\n\n### How to Apply\nInterested candidates should visit the official Co-operative Bank of Kenya careers portal at or apply directly through their website at www.co-opbank.co.ke.
