Role Overview
The Integrated Solutions Field Superintendent is responsible for managing the Integrated Solutions Wellsite Supervisors in LSTK/Integrated Operations projects for Baker Hughes. Acting as the main focal point interacting with the customer, this role manages several wellsites and leads all elements of the operations including Baker Hughes products, services, and contracted parties.
The Field Superintendent must demonstrate effective leadership in all matters related to HSE, ensuring that safe working practices are applied at all times. They must demonstrate a clear understanding of, and compliance with, the latest Baker Hughes and customer's standard operating procedures, checklists, recommended practices, and forms where applicable.
The main objective is to drive and assure flawless HSE performance, on-time delivery, consistency, and Service Delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct management of operations on a drilling, completion, and workover project.
- Managing day-to-day field operations and providing support and direction to Drilling and Completions.
- Accountable for safety at the rig sites.
- Managing all rig-based and field-based operations, inclusive of managing operations for a drilling rig and a completions rig operating simultaneously.
- Forecasting upcoming operational needs and liaising with logistics and client civil works to ensure readiness for future operations.
- Managing drilling, completion, and workover project spend.
- Being an operational leader who leads by example, exemplifies Baker Hughes core values, and ensures their team of drilling and completion supervisors lead in the same manner on-site.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline from an accredited university or equivalent relevant industry experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5+ years as a Wellsite Leader.
- Valid well control certificate (IWCF Certificate) level 4 IWCF or equivalent.
- Experience working in either a turnkey drilling and completion project or working as a drilling supervisor or superintendent for an Operating company.
- Comfort working on a rotational schedule and being located on the rig site.
- Comprehensive knowledge of well control best practices, procedures, field service operations, installation, and maintenance operations.
- Competence to plan, problem-solve, organize, direct, and control wellsite operations while promoting a culture of collaboration and teamwork across multiple Product Lines, functions, and external parties.
- Advanced knowledge of Drill string design and downhole dynamics, Directional Drilling, Bits / Dull Grading, Hydraulics (including nozzle selection), and Drilling fluid management.
- Good leadership, excellent interpersonal, influencing, and planning skills.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including the ability to organize meetings and distribute accurate and succinct minutes of meetings.
- Skill in the functional use of MS Office Suite, with MS Project familiarity required.
- Willingness and ability to frequently travel to remote field locations.
- Ability to manage, develop, coach, and mentor high-level teams across organizational boundaries.
- Proven personnel development skills.
