The Field Service Technician role focuses on providing essential maintenance and repair services for Wärtsilä corporation products across the Eastern Africa region, based in Nairobi. This role requires technical proficiency, adherence to high quality and safety standards, and excellent customer interaction.
Key Responsibilities
Performing maintenance and repair jobs in relation to products of Wärtsilä corporation.
Fulfilling tasks assigned by the Field Service Team Leader.
Using and maintaining shop and field tools in accordance with good mechanical-work practices.
Preparing and submitting parts requisitions as required.
Maintaining current individual time sheets and expense records to support the timely invoicing of jobs to customers.
Maintaining a professional appearance and conduct.
Maintaining the quality and efficiency of mechanical work performed (as measured by warranty costs), and ensuring compliance with manufacturers' specifications and ISO procedures.
Ensuring accurate and timely care of Wärtsilä specialty tools (field and shop) used for service work.
Ensuring customer satisfaction with job performance through positive interactions with customers.
Conforming with and abiding by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
Conforming to all safety rules and utilizing all appropriate safety equipment.
Adopting a pleasant, adaptable attitude to assist Company staff with any "ad-hoc" duties that may be required.
Submitting accurate and high-quality service work reports within 48 hours of returning home from assigned jobs.
Promoting Wärtsilä Products and Services.
Qualifications and Education
Candidates must possess the following:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
