We are seeking a Field Sales Manager for our Hola region to build and lead a high-performing sales team.
Role Purpose
The Field Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth by recruiting, training, and managing a team of commission-based sales agents. This role involves strategic planning, market analysis, and hands-on field support to ensure the team meets its targets.
Key Responsibilities
Team Building: Build a strong team of commission-based sales agents by recruiting, training, motivating, and mentoring them for success.
Strategy Development: Develop clear sales strategies for the team and help develop lead-generation initiatives.
Field Support: Support and train the sales agents in their pitching to customer groups, e.g., chamas (savings groups).
Performance Monitoring: Daily monitor the progress of agents to ensure that they are actively selling and provide support where needed.
Reporting: Provide regular reports on your sales initiatives to the Area Sales Manager.
Staff Development: Identify the sales team's training needs and work with the HR Team to schedule new programs.
Logistics Coordination: Liaise with the local shop Administrator to ensure that field agents are provided with adequate stock on a timely basis.
Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, including customer behavior and competitor activities, and share insights frequently with management.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in sales or micro-finance, with a strong record of achieving targets.
Essential experience working in rural areas.
Proven experience in recruiting and managing commission-based sales agents.
Strong leadership abilities and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Ability to think and plan strategically to achieve set outcomes.
Ability to deliver under pressure and meet targets.
A diploma or degree in a relevant field is an added advantage.
