Job Description
TakaTaka Solutions is a leading waste management and recycling company that sorts and recycles 95% of collected waste. The company is seeking a Field Officer- Sourcing to be based in Kiambu. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving monthly sourcing targets by managing the procurement of recyclable materials from waste pickers and ensuring quality standards are met at Buyback Centres (BBC).
Responsibilities
Achieve monthly quality and quantity sourcing targets for materials.
Oversee the purchase of recyclable materials from waste pickers at assigned Buyback Centres in accordance with quality SOPs.
Create monthly delivery schedules for aggregators and update daily expected deliveries.
Onboard new waste pickers and maintain supplier relationships through regular (e.g. weekly) check-ins.
Resolve grievances from waste pickers and maintain an updated grievance tracker.
Conduct market research and gather intelligence on suppliers, pricing, and recycling fractions.
Coordinate with BBC supervisors and operations teams to manage material flow.
Supervise Assistant Field Officers and ensure all assigned tasks are completed.
Develop budgets and proactively suggest cost-cutting initiatives.
Propose new operational models focused on improving material quality.
Ensure waste pickers receive D-notes on time and that all issues are resolved.
Requirements
Education: Diploma in Business Management or a related field.
Experience: Prior experience in the waste recycling industry or a related field is required.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of recyclable materials, recycling market dynamics, and sales/sourcing strategies.
