Job Description
Faulu MFB is seeking a Product and Ideation Manager for Transactional Banking and Digital Sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of digital banking products, specifically focusing on payments, digital lending, collections, and customer onboarding. This role ensures that products are competitive, scoped within budget, and aligned with current market trends while leading cross-functional teams through the entire product lifecycle.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Product Development and Ideation (50%)
Ensure that products (payments, digital lending, collections) are scoped, approved, and developed within set timelines and budgets.
Act as the digital lead for regular product reviews to maintain competitiveness in the agile banking market.
Lead cross-functional teams through product design, prototyping, testing, and release with a go-to-market strategy.
Translate customer insights and market trends into actionable product features.
Oversee agile development cycles and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers, engineers, and stakeholders to refine product vision.
Work closely with relationship teams (Branches, MSME, SME, Business Banking) to embed transactional and digital product solutions.
Champion product and sales activities to drive business growth.
Utilize existing resources efficiently to ensure competitive product standards.
Business Planning and Strategy (25%)
Develop standard product proposals and presentations for internal and external pitching.
Liaise with developers and partners to promote and design competitive products.
Serve as the point of reference for digital product initiatives.
Implement e-banking and Transaction Banking solutions for clients of varying complexity.
Assess and recommend pricing guidelines for Online and Transaction Banking to maximize revenue and competitiveness.
Service Management (15%)
Coordinate resolution of digital and transaction banking-related problems within agreed TAT (Turn Around Time).
Motivate and guide the team to reduce project implementation cycles.
Provide MIS and metrics on product progress to management.
Cost Containment (10%)
Ensure Return on Equity (ROE) is achieved for all digital and transaction products by driving share of wallet (SOW).
Ensure prudent use of bank resources.
Key Performance Areas
Target Achievement: Meet product targets set by the bank's digital strategy, measured quarterly.
Innovation: Engage in innovation forums with vendors and IT to keep products competitive.
Compliance: Adhere to bank policies, procedures, and risk/audit requirements.
Staff Training: Conduct regular training for staff and create Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) for sales teams.
Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel, Access).
Strong understanding of digital and cash management products including Mobile Banking, Internet banking, Host to Host Integration, Digital Lending, and Card Business.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Qualifications & Experience
University Degree in a Business, Sales, or IT-related field (Minimum 2nd Class Honors).
A master's degree qualification will be an added advantage.
A professional qualification in IT or project management field is an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Digital/Transaction banking/Cash management product development or management.
Relevant certifications in Sales and Project Management are a plus.
