Role Overview
This role is about building and running the new-business engine across named target accounts and selected strategic opportunities. The primary objective is originating and qualifying opportunities early enough that the business is no longer dependent on walk-ins or founder discovery. You will prepare opportunities thoroughly, including stakeholder maps, value hypotheses, and proposal coordination, while maintaining a clean commercial operating rhythm.
Key Responsibilities
Opportunity Origination: Build and run the new-business engine across named target accounts and selected strategic opportunities.
Pipeline Management: Originate and qualify opportunities early to ensure consistent pipeline growth.
Strategic Preparation: Prepare opportunities properly with stakeholder maps, value hypotheses, and close-readiness strategies.
Executive Collaboration: Use founder and senior executive time effectively by bringing them into deals for trust-building or solution shaping.
Commercial Hygiene: Maintain a clean operating rhythm with high-quality pipeline reporting and discipline.
Target Outreach: Build focused target-account lists and run structured outreach using referrals, executive introductions, and direct prospecting.
Discovery & Shaping: Lead discovery sessions to shape opportunities around real business pain, urgency, and value.
Stakeholder Coordination: Map business, technology, operations, and procurement stakeholders and coordinate with product, finance, and delivery teams on proposals/SOWs.
Deal Tracking: Track procurement, security, legal, and approval steps to ensure deals progress to signing.
Handover: Support a clean handover into the delivery phase once work is signed.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education: BA/BSc/HND qualification.
Experience: Proven ability to manage complex enterprise sales cycles.
Skills: Strong understanding of insurance, bancassurance, or ICT technology sectors.
Competencies: Proficiency in stakeholder mapping, proposal coordination, and pipeline reporting.
